چکیده
Guided wave ultrasound can be applied to inspect large volumes of structures from a single transducer location and is particularly effective in one-dimensional such as rods, pipes rail. An application, which interest South Africa, the inspection rock bolts mining industry. The difficulty inspecting embedded rods that there rapid attenuation signals with distance. While guided systems generally operate at low frequencies (20 kHz 200 kHz), high frequency operation (1 MHz 10 MHz) offer some advantages when bolts. testing complicated by multi-modal propagation dispersion, require use sophisticated excitation signals, are not available equipment designed for conventional ultrasonic testing. It was therefore necessary develop measurement setup approach taken standard lab instruments wherever possible only purchase items unique this measurement, using very limited budget available. used perform measurements on rod confirmed theoretical predictions. Precision Ultrasonic Wave Measurements With Simple Equipment
We describe the design and construction of a relatively simple, inexpensive laser interferometer system for accurate measurements of ultrasonic surface displacement waveforms in reasonably friendly environments. We show how analysis of a single waveform can provide both the calibration constant required for absolute measurements and an estimate of the uncertainty of these measurements. We demon...
متن کاملHigh-quality Low-cost Low-frequency Filter for Adc Testing
− This paper deals with the generation of lowdistortion sine wave signal by means of low-cost filter for the purpose of ADC testing at the signal frequency of 20 kHz. The design and manufacture of such a filter is proposed and the functionality of a prototype is verified on a top digitizer.

متن کاملLiver steatosis classification using high-frequency ultrasound.
High-frequency B-mode images of 19 fresh human liver samples were obtained to evaluate their usefulness in determining the steatosis grade. The images were acquired by a mechanically controlled single-crystal probe at 25 MHz. Image features derived from gray-level concurrence and nonseparable wavelet transform were extracted to classify steatosis grade using a classifier known as the support ve...
متن کاملQuantification of Ultrasound Contrast Agents Using High Frequency Ultrasound
Ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs) are small microbubbles filled with gas. Because of their scattering properties, UCAs enhance the diagnostic capabilities of ultrasonic imaging. UCAs are associated with therapeutic or enhancing therapeutic applications of ultrasound and with possible adverse bioeffects. Quantification of the in vivo concentration of microbubbles is therefore essential to establ...
